The "Calm Down" Music Video Teaser Features Selena Gomez and Rema Arguing in Favor of Denim Corsets.

On Thursday, August 25 at midnight, the 30-year-old dropped a preview of the music video for "Calm Down," her upcoming duet with Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Rema.

Gomez released the 12-second video on TikTok on August 24. In it, she can be seen resting against a classic Porsche while dressed in a denim corset, pleated brown slacks, and gold hoops. Is it just me, or does she look like she stepped out of the early 2000s with her wavy, center-parted hairstyle?

Using social media, Selena has been dropping hints about the project, which is a cover of a song from Rema's debut album, by posting videos of herself in the recording studio. To what extent she is preparing follow-ups to Rare, her 2020 studio album, and Revelación, her 2021 Spanish-language EP, remains to be seen.

The actor, singer, and producer has had a hectic summer between promoting her newest album and the season two finale of Only Murders in the Building (which aired earlier this week). Selena Gomez also just celebrated her 30th birthday (in two gorgeous gowns) and took a quick trip to the Amalfi Coast. We had no idea that, amidst all of her other commitments, she had also found time to shoot a music video!

In addition to her co-stars Martin Short and Steve Martin, Selena is nominated for an Emmy for producing Only Murders in the Building. On September 12th, there will be a ceremony. No word yet on whether or not she'll wear nothing but denim as Britney and Justin did at the 2001 American Music Awards, but we can hope.
