Johnny Depp's Messy Instagram, Photo Has Fans Scratching Their Heads.

Fans of Johnny Depp are trying to make sense of the "messy" Instagram photo he recently posted.

Despite the recent heated defamation litigation he was involved in, the actor's online popularity appears to have remained unchanged.

The case he brought against his ex-wife Amber Heard ended in his favor after she published an op-ed in 2018 in which she claimed to be a survivor of domestic abuse, but newly released records have cast a shadow over the trial and disclosed previously hidden truths. The legal teams representing Heard and Depp are challenging different parts of the Fairfax County, Virginia jury's verdict.

Depp was offline for the duration of his trial, but has recently returned to social media to the joy of his devoted fan base with the occasional Instagram post and a brand new TikTok account.

In a post on Sunday, August 14th, he said, "Organization has always been my strong point," while sitting in a disorganized environment.

Depp is pictured above from above, lounging on a couch in a room adorned with various works of art. Several guitars, a piano, and canvases of all sizes and styles decorate the space.

Some of Depp's renowned fans, such as musician Patti Smith and chef Julien Dugourd, were thrilled by the photo and its accompanying caption. Photographer Kirsty Mitchell claims her workspaces are just as disorganized, and British-Irish painter Francis Bacon was also sloppy.

In addition to the over 1.2 million likes, the photo has attracted hundreds of comments from Instagram users. Some of the most popular responses from Depp's followers included, "love it," "a bright mind," and "this is the mind of a talented creator."

"As a writer, I now feel less alone witnessing the ordered chaos of #JohnnyDepp as an artist of any level," commented @mg violette on Twitter, comparing a photo of Depp's workspace with their own. Another Instagram user, @ErikTwan, referred to Depp as a "creative genius at work" and reposted one of Depp's photos.

Closer study of the area where Depp is sitting reveals a painting of an unnamed man on the floor, who resembles Depp; a painting of a skeleton; and several other paintings and books strewn around the room.

@aligatorcrockerdile on Instagram pondered, "Portrait of Al Pacino??" and "and a skeleton, perfect home decor."

Actor Bernardo Castilla weighed in on the matter, saying, "It was either [Bob] Dylan or [Tim] Burton."

Someone other chimed in and offered Charlie Chaplin, while a Bosnian Serb who killed Archduke Franz Ferdinand was also mentioned as a possible suspect.

The image in question appears to be a playing card due to the presence of a king of hearts symbol in the upper right corner. Depp and Burton collaborated on the film adaptation of Alice in Wonderland, so there may be some connection there.

Depp has been back at work since the trial with Heard concluded on June 1, 2022. He went on a tour of England with musician Jeff Beck and will play King Louis XV in the upcoming film Jeanne du Barry.

His first commercial since the trial has also debuted, with him reprising his role as the face of Dior's Sauvage fragrance.
