Elon Musk requests Twitter's list of bot users' names.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, has had his legal team accuse Twitter of concealing the identities of its employees who are responsible for determining which users are bots. The employees would be important witnesses in the companies' upcoming October court case. Judge Kathaleen St. J. McCormick of the Delaware Chancery Court has been contacted by Musk's legal team, who have asked that she order Twitter to provide the names of relevant employees in the case.

Some have interpreted Musk's legal team's actions as an effort to persuade the judge to order Twitter to disclose the identity of the employees responsible for the company's bot user calculation. According to Musk, this is a crucial piece of data that decides how much money can be made off of Twitter.

It was reported on Tuesday that a sealed filing of the letter from Musk's lawyers had been made. According to Bloomberg, Twitter's legal team now has five business days to assess what confidential material must be removed from the submission in light of the court's restrictions. A letter from Musk's team has purportedly leaked, and those in the know have disclosed what they know.

Twitter has not commented on the lawsuit filed by Musk's team as of yet.

However, Bloomberg reports that the social media business has provided the names of "record custodians," who may not know as much about the information connected to Musk's key worries. In response to Twitter's attempt to compel him to purchase the social media business at $54.20 per share, Musk has stated on Twitter that his recent round of TSLA stock sales was undertaken as a contingency plan.

The legal teams representing Elon Musk have issued numerous subpoenas in separate instances. Elon Musk's bid to acquire Twitter has resulted in subpoenas being sent to banks, investors, and lawyers. Carl Tobias, a securities and mergers and acquisitions law expert and professor at the University of Richmond School of Law, has said that Twitter and Musk's tactics are common.

Another shot fired in the discovery wars so typical of this type of lawsuit. Tobias observed that "both sides are trying to gain an advantage by focusing on distinct pieces of information."

The Tesla CEO's decision to abandon his bid to acquire Twitter has set the stage for an impending legal showdown between Elon Musk and the social media business. Musk had disputed Twitter's claim in SEC filings that only 5% of its users were bots and spammers. Twitter bowed to Musk's requests for information and opened the "firehose" to the Tesla CEO. Musk stated he was backing out of the contract because of Twitter's "firehose" data, leading the social media company to sue.
