Camille Vasquez's viral clip calling, Johnny Depp a 'abuser' isn't what it seems, an insider says.
Some footage of Camille Vasquez from the slander trial, between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp has gone viral.
A film of Camille Vasquez accidentally calling, Johnny Depp an abuser during the closing arguments, of the trial in 2022 has gone viral, despite the fact that the defamation trial, has concluded with Amber Heard owing millions, and Johnny Depp's legal team has, already begun their own appeal process. An insider has now spoken out, about what really happened during the trial, after a videotape from it went viral.
This seems to be an unfortunate slip, of the tongue on the part of Camille Vasquez, considering the rest of her statement, portrays Depp as the victim of abuse. However, the film that went viral only shows, a small portion of the exchange, and the most notable part is when she says, "never thought she would have to face," before appearing to trip over, her words and end with "her abuser." With the help of a Twitter thread, in Amber Heard's favor, the clip quickly gained widespread attention.
Witnesses testified that her client endured, "chronic verbal, physical, and emotional abuse, by Ms. Heard during their relationship," and Ms. Vasquez states in the extended version, of the closing video that, "there is an abuser in this courtroom, but not Mr. Depp." She also utilized additional language that, pleaded for her client, including mentioning the influence, of Amber Heard's op-ed. That was not included in the video, that ended up becoming popular online.
An anonymous source close to Camille Vasquez, told Newsweek that she misspoke and wanted to say, "abuse victim" in that section of her speech. The attorney has fallen down on that, particular part of her statement in court before. Vasquez later stumbles and shares another, unintentional double negative when she states, "she never thought she would never," before trying to cut short the second, "never" and ending with, "have her purported mountain of proof examined." If you watch the whole thing, you'll see where the lawyer, stumbled a little during his speech.
The revelation of an extra 6,000 pages of, previously classified trial documents has contributed, to the video's meteoric rise in popularity. Evidence that did not make it to court includes, allegations that Johnny Depp suffered from erectile, problems throughout his relationship, with Ms. Heard and allegations that he edited his bruises, after an alleged altercation with his ex-girlfriend, Amber Heard.
Camille Vasquez has been widely, praised for her efforts on the trial, and after the majority of the verdict, was handed down in favor of Johnny Depp, she was apparently promoted. (Amber Heard did won $2 million, in compensatory damages due to a, statement made by a Depp representative in the past.) After Amber Heard's attorney filed an appeal, Vasquez continued to defend the Pirates star, saying in an interview that the move was "anticipated." As part of the team representing Depp, Vasquez negotiated an out-of-court settlement in a second complaint.
